New collaborative project on Autonomous Multiagent-based Cyber Resilience

IAT has been awarded a large project on "Autonomic Computing for Resilient Cyber Operations in Contested Environments" in collaboration with Data61 and DSTG. The project aims at developing novel multi-agent solutions for a number of critical problems in distributed autonomic computing for autonomous cyber defence.

Postdoctoral/Research Fellow in Computer Science/Software Engineering

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral (Level A) or Research (Level B) Fellow in Computer Science/Software Engineering in the FICT, working with Dr. Bao Quoc Vo and Prof. Norman Foo (UNSW).

The successful applicant will work on using argumentation frameworks to resolve conflicts in requirements engineering (RE), employing a mix of theoretical and algorithmic approaches, and interacting with a large research centre interested in intelligent agent technology and Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. The group has excellent facilities and provides a stimulating research environment, with wide international research collaborations.

Essential Criteria:
  • A PhD (or thesis submitted before applying) in Computer Science/Software Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Experience in research and development in key topic areas of argumentation frameworks and/or logical formalisms and requirements engineering or software engineering.
  • Proven research ability and evidence of potential and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills, including publications in refereed journals/conferences.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.

This position is full-time, fixed term for 2 years initially, with an option of extending to another year, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period, performance, need, and funding.

Remuneration package Level A: $67,565 - $75,233 p.a. (which includes a base salary $57,748 - $64,302 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
Remuneration package Level B: $79,171 - $93,921 p.a. (which includes a base salary $67,668 - $80,275 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).

Assistance towards relocation and Visa sponsorship will be provided for the successful appointees if required, and the level and duration of appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
