QSIC 2005 Hotel and Travel Information

  1. QSIC and workshops will be held on Monday and Tuesday September 19-20. Non-local participants are encouraged to arrive Melbourne on Sunday September 18 or earlier. The conference venue is Eden on the Park Hotel which is not far from the Melbourne city Centre. A detailed map is available on the hotel Web site - check the 'how to get to Eden' link.

    Though it is close to city centre (10 minutes by tram), we recommend that participants stay in the conference hotel. We have negotiated with the hotel for a discount rate. Please contact the hotel directly for your booking use the Hotel Reservation Form (Word, PDF). The hotel keeps this rate until August 18, 2005. After that date, rooms cannot be guaranteed.

  2. Visa

    All foreigners need a valid visa to enter Australia. Please arrange with your travel agency in advance.

  3. Nearest Airport and how to get to Eden from the airport

    Melbourne Airport (international and domestic terminals are co-located).

    From the airport, you can either catch a taxi directly from the airport to the hotel which costs about A$50 one way or you can catch a shuttle bus from the airport to the city centre (A$13 one way and A$24 return) and then catch a taxi which is a 3 km short journey.
