Research Scholarships Available

     PhD students are sought to carry out research in the areas of XML data integration, advanced database systems, workflows, and transaction management for collaborative business processes. Scholarships are available from Swinburne Research Scholarships plus fee exemption for both Australian and international students, with partial support from my current ARC Discovery Projects. Dr. Chengfei Liu joined the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies at the Swinburne University of Technology as an associate professor in July 2004. He is currently the leader of Web and Data Engineering (WDE) research program and the coordinator of Service Oriented Computing (SOC) research theme in the Swinburne Centre for Information Technology Research (CITR). From 2000 to June 2004, he was a senior lecturer in the School of Computer and Information Science at the University of South Australia. From 1998 to 1999, he was a lecturer in the School of Computing Sciences at University of Technology, Sydney. From 1995 to 1997, he was a senior research scientist in the Cooperative Research Centre for Distributed Systems Technology (DSTC) located in the University of Queensland. From 1989 to 1994, and 1988 to 1989, he was an associate professor and a lecturer in Computer Science Department at East China University of Science and Technology, respectively. From January to June 2007, he was a visiting professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From January to March 2003, he was a visiting professor at the University of Aizu, Japan. From July 2001 to February 2002, he was a visiting scientist at IBM Silicon Valley Lab. Dr. Chengfei Liu obtained his PhD, MSc, and BSc all in Computer Science from the Nanjing University in 1988, 1985, 1983, respectively.  He is a member of ARC Research Network in Enterprise Information Infrastructure (EII).
