Research Interests
I am an Associate Professor in the Centre for Computing and Engineering Software Systems (SUCCESS) in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technologes at Swinburne University of Technology.
My main research interests lie in the general area of reliable software technologies with a special focus on component technology and user-centred approaches. More specifically, my research interests are in object-oriented and concurrent/distributed/service-oriented programming, scripting and composition languages, and the definition of formal approaches for component-based Software Engineering. Furthermore, I am interested in methodologies and tools in the context of the evolution of object- and component-based software systems, agile software development processes, as well as the influence and applicability of software development processes in tertiary education.
Publications
The list of publications collects my Ph.D. thesis as well as articles and technical reports I have written or co-authored.
Please also check my bibliography database and the SCG Bibliography (with hyperlinks to many interesting publications) maintained by my former collegues of the Software Composition Group at the Institute of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of the University of Berne, Switzerland.
Scientometrics
For those interested in Scientometrics, I currently have an h-index of 12, a g-index of 24, and an e-index of 17.
Memberships
I am a member of the executive committee of SAAN (Swiss Australian Academic Network) and have been a member of ACM (Association of Computing Machinery) since 1995.
During my time as a Ph.D. student, I have also been a member of SI (Swiss Informaticians Society) and CHOOSE (Swiss Group for Object-Oriented Systems and Environments).
Future Events
  • Member of the Program Committee of the 8th International Conference on Software Composition (SC 2012), Prague, Czech Republic, May 31 to June 1, 2012 (co-located with Tools 2012).
  • Member of the Program Committee of the 3rd International Workshop on Emerging Trends in Software Metrics (WETSoM 2012), Zurich, Switzerland, June 3, 2012 (in conjunction with ICSE 2012).
  • Member of the Program Committee of the 8th International ACM Sigsoft Conference on the Quality of Software Architectures (QoSA 2012), Bertinoro, Italy, June 25 to June 28, 2012 (co-located with CompArch 2012).
  • Member of the Program Committee of the 15th International ACM Sigsoft Symposium on Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE 2012), Bertinoro, Italy, June 25 to June 28, 2012 (co-located with CompArch 2012).
Also see a list of past events I have been involved with.
Teaching
During Semester 1, 2012, I am in charge of the following Units of Study (Subjects): I am the former course coordinator for the Bachelor of Science (Professional Software Development), but still provide assistance for this course. Please contact Ms Diana Kuo for further information about this course.
