Research Opportunities
We currently have PhD scholarships available in the area of Software Data Mining (Virtual Environments for Software Deployment). If you are interested, please check the details available here and then send me an email with the required information.
Research Interests
My main research interests lie in the general area of reliable software technologies with a special focus on component technology and user-centred approaches. More specifically, my research interests are in object-oriented and concurrent/distributed/service-oriented programming, scripting and composition languages, and the definition of formal approaches for component-based Software Engineering. Furthermore, I am interested in methodologies and tools in the context of the evolution of object- and component-based software systems, agile software development processes, as well as the influence and applicability of software development processes in tertiary education.
The list of publications contains my Ph.D. thesis as well as articles and technical reports I have written or co-authored.
Please also check my bibliography database and the SCG Bibliography (with hyperlinks to many interesting publications) maintained by my former colleagues of the Software Composition Group at the Institute of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of the University of Berne, Switzerland.
For those interested in Scientometrics, I currently have an h-index of 18, a g-index of 29, and an e-index of 20.
I am a member of the Steering Committee of ASWEC (Australasian Software Engineering Conference), a member of the Executive Committee of SAAN (Swiss Australian Academic Network), as well as a member of ACM (Association of Computing Machinery).
During my time as a Ph.D. student, I have also been a member of SI (Swiss Informaticians Society) and CHOOSE (Swiss Group for Object-Oriented Systems and Environments).
