Minh is a post-doctoral research fellow in the Centre for Complex Systems and Services
(CS3) at
Swinburne. Minh received a PhD from Swinburne in 2006, a Master of IT degree from Swinburne and a Bachelor of Computer Science from
Melbourne University in 2002 and 2000, respectively.
Minh is currently working in the Proactive Maintenance Project, funded by Advanced Automotive CRC and General Motors Holden (GM Holden).
Previously, Minh worked as a postdoc fellow at Smart Internet Technology CRC (SITCRC) in the research field of context-aware collaborative systems.
More information about Minh's current and past research can be found at the research and publication pages.
Research interests
- Awareness support in Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (authoring, communication, games, online communities, digital identity)
- Adaptive, Context-aware Pervasive Computing (system architecture, user modelling, SOA)
- Semantic Web (e.g., user intent discovery, adaptive information access, smart search/browser)
- HCI, Usability, User Interface Technology
Grants
- 2009 - Researcher Development Scheme (RDS), Social context: supporting context-aware automotive telematics systems: $14K (1 year)
- 2008 - CRC for Advanced Automotive Technology (AutoCRC) Postgraduate Research Scholarship, Context-Aware Vehicle: Enabling Adaptive Distraction-Free Vehicle-Environment Interactions: $99K (3 years)

- 2006 - Smart Internet Technology CRC (SITCRC) Post Graduate Development Extension Program, Relaxed Instant Messenger Technologies: $90K (1 year)
Projects
- May 07 - Present:
- The Proactive Maintanence project funded by AutoCRC. The project
develops Web-based systems for vehicle testing and diagnosis.
- Context-aware pervasive systems
- Context-aware vehicles
- Other potential projects in the pipeline: context-aware services (e.g., resource-aware, process-aware)
- Feb 06 - Apr 07: The Presence project @ Smart Internet Technology CRC (SITCRC). The project
investigated the use of text-based CMC (e.g., Instant Messaging) to support group communication and knowledge sharing.
- PhD: My PhD focused on awareness modelling and context-awareness mechanisms in synchronous, distributed groupware.
